The vest/jacket is reusable, as only the cartridge needs to be replaced and the key ball reinserted into the activation mechanism. However, it is essential to carefully check whether the system was damaged in the event of a fall.
The vest/jacket is reusable, as only the cartridge needs to be replaced and the key ball reinserted into the activation mechanism. However, it is essential to carefully check whether the system was damaged in the event of a fall.
The vest must always be worn as the outermost layer of clothing to ensure the air cushions can fully deploy and have enough space!
The base of the cartridge is destroyed upon activation, so it cannot be refilled.
For the “Mcplus,” “Leo,” and “Equipe” models, the airbag system can be removed, allowing you to wash the vest/jacket comfortably.
This depends on the model and size. For example, the ‘MCPlus’ model weighs approximately 1.4 kg, while the ‘Cross Country’ model weighs just under 1 kg.
As soon as the activation distance is reached, the vest is triggered. If the rider’s body size and the horse’s withers height are well matched, the vest will not activate, as the upper body remains close enough to the saddle. With a small rider and a tall horse, however, the activation distance will likely be reached quickly when dismounting without unfastening first, and the vest will deploy. A pulling force of 30 kg is required to trigger the system. For motorcyclists, this means they are reminded before the system activates. Fastening and unfastening quickly becomes a habit — just like in a car.
The neck, upper body, and lower spine areas can be protected by the activated vest. The jackets also feature built-in protectors for the elbows and shoulders.
Replacing the cartridge is quick and straightforward. Anyone can prepare a triggered vest for use again within 2–3 minutes.
The coiled lanyard runs between the saddle and the vest/jacket in such a way that the rider or driver is not affected. Equestrian activities can be carried out as usual, regardless of the discipline, and motorcycling can be fully enjoyed.
In the event of a fall, the connection is automatically released as soon as 30 kg of force is applied to the coiled lanyard.
A valve ensures that the vest/jacket remains fully inflated for about 10 seconds. After that, the air slowly escapes from the chambers.
The coiled lanyard should always be adjusted as short as possible without interfering with normal movements. A specific length in centimeters cannot be provided due to individual body sizes. Always attach the coiled lanyard to a stable point and ensure that the wing screw is properly secured. Be sure to keep the protective cover at the lower end or trim it accordingly when adjusting the length. The knot after the connector must always remain in the cable or be retied after making adjustments.
Please read the user manual carefully! Screw in one of the supplied cartridges straight and hand-tight, and adjust the coiled lanyard to your individual length. Do not use the included tool or the red slider found on some models — they are not required!
